Love Owls!!

Owls are one of the oldest species of vertebrate animal in existence, fossils have been found dating back 60 million years, showing the bird to have changed very little in that time.
Throughout the history of mankind, the owl has featured significantly in mythology & folklore. Owls are one of the few birds that have been found in prehistoric cave paintings. Owls have been both revered & feared throughout many civilizations from ancient to more recent times
The Romans saw owls as omens of impending disaster. Hearing the hoot of an owl indicated an imminent death, it is thought that the death of many famous Romans was predicted by the hoot of an owl, including Julius Caesar, Augustus & Agrippa.
Some people believed that owls were particularly bad to children, in Malaya it was believed that owls ate new-born babies, the Swahili believed that owls brought sickness to children, in Arabia it was believed that owls were evil spirits that carried children off in the night.
Some people believed that owls had magic powers, in Arabia it was thought that each female Owl laid two eggs - one with the power to make hair fall out, the other with the power to restore it. In Algeria, it was believed that if the right eye of an Eagle Owl was placed in the hand of a sleeping woman, that she would tell everything you wanted to know (now that is stretching the imagination too far).
I think Owls are beautiful creatures, and love to collect anything to do with them.
These are a few of my collections...

A day for shopping :)

Today the sun was out shining nice and warm, but the wind insisted on giving a cool breeze. I chose to wear a comfortable khaki maxi skirt, black cardigan and a red satin scarf/hijab that matched my bag. And of course one of my many owl necklaces (my favorite one) :)

I did some retail therapy and came out with two lovely pieces. A red woolen bat wing top by Venom and a multi-layered necklace to go with it.... I will wear them asap, so I shall post some pictures soon.

Graffiti is the name for images or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on property. Graffiti is any type of public markings that may appear in the forms of simple written words to elaborate wall paintings. Graffiti has existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire.

I think graffiti is one of the coolest forms of art. It is an individuals creativity and this gives them a chance to show the world that passion for creativity. I was down an alley way on melbourne's famous sydney road and found these pretty awsome peices of art. Some deem it as vandalism of property, but i personally see it as a form of art, and find that it brings color into or world. Streets are filled with these for no cost to the government, council or any other tax payer. Let us rejoice in this form of art and get creative people!

Note: I do not condone 'Graffiti' in the context of racism, sexism, prejudice messages and so on.

Hello all,
I am back and ready to make my blog rock!
I was very busy with work and school and gave up a little too easily, and have decided that it is a little getaway and time for me to share things i love.
It is now the school holidays so i will have a good chance to post regularly.
My first post will be about the macaroons i had with my sister Sera and bestest friend Busra at Melbourne's delicious Brunneti cafe, Lygon street......The colors are gorgeous to mention....but the taste is heavenly....the first crunch and then chewy shell just melts in your mouth...the flavours range from blackcurrant, strawberry, tiramsu, chocolate, vanilla, mango, passionfruit and pistachio. They are just to die for!
